Update Google Chrome for Google Meet on Android, iPhone, or iPad

If Google Meet is not loading correctly, video or audio is not working, or you see a message that your browser is out of date, update Google Chrome on your mobile device.

Android users

Follow these steps to update Chrome on an Android phone or tablet:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.

  2. At the top right, tap your profile icon.

  3. Tap Manage apps & device.

  4. Under Updates available, look for Chrome.

  5. Next to Chrome, tap Update.

Note: Chrome on Android is supported on devices running Android 10 or newer.

iPhone and iPad users

Follow these steps to update Chrome on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the App Store.

  2. Tap your profile icon at the top right.

  3. Scroll to Available Updates.

  4. If Chrome appears, tap Update.

Note: Chrome on iPhone and iPad requires iOS 17 or newer.

If you do not see an update

  • Your device may already have the latest version of Chrome.

  • Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

  • Restart your device, then check for updates again.

After Chrome updates

  1. Open Chrome again.

  2. Go back to your Google Meet link.

  3. If Google Meet still does not work, close and reopen the Google Meet tab or restart your device.
